I used to carry so much shame over my perceived procrastination, but a few years ago, I realized that chewing on a problem, often subconsciously, was part of my problem. I didn't magically wake up with a solution after putting it off like I thought -- my brain had been working on it all along.
Now I intentionally prime myself with challenges, especially before I go to the gym. I consider my noon workouts part of my process, because I can start a problem before I go to the gym, and typically, I'll come up with a solution on my way back.
